MCP server
Figma (Dev Mode)
See the layout, text, and components of a Figma design file you have open, from inside Claude.
No terminal neededOfficial
Published by the company that makes the product.
What it can access
Runs locally alongside the Figma desktop app, switched on manually in Dev Mode; it only exposes whichever file or selection you have open at the time.
Security note
Built and published by Figma itself, and listed in both Claude's official plugin directory and GitHub's MCP registry. Low risk for design files. Do not put a beneficiary's photo or real name into a design file you expose this way.
Before you start
This needs the Figma desktop app (not the browser version) with a plan that includes Dev Mode, plus a Claude.ai account. No terminal, no download beyond the Figma app itself.
How to install
- Open the Figma desktop app and open a design file.
- Go to Preferences → Enable Dev Mode MCP Server. Figma shows a local address (starting with http://127.0.0.1).
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector and paste that address in.
- Click Connect.
How to remove it
- In Figma, open Preferences and turn Dev Mode MCP Server back off.
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors, find the entry you added, and click Remove.
