Compare three supplier quotes and justify the choice
Puts the three quotes side by side on the same criteria, marks what each one leaves out, and drafts the justification with your figures unchanged.

The prompt
Answer in [ANSWER LANGUAGE], even if the material below is in another language. Below are three supplier quotes. Compare them and help me justify a choice. Use only what the quotes say. Rules: 1. Never change a figure. Copy every price, currency and date exactly as the quote writes it, including mixed digits: ١٢٣ alongside 123. Do not convert a currency, and do not calculate a total I did not give you. 2. Compare all three on the same criteria, even when a quote is silent. Where a quote says nothing about a criterion, write "the quote does not say". 3. Do not recommend a supplier. Set out what each quote offers and what is missing from it. 4. Never add a fact about a supplier from anywhere except its own quote. Give me, in this order: A. A comparison table, one column per quote, with one row for each of: price as written, what is included, delivery time, warranty, and what is missing from that quote. B. The two questions to ask each supplier before deciding, taken from what its own quote leaves unanswered. C. One paragraph justifying the choice of [WHICH QUOTE], using only the figures as I wrote them, and writing [I MUST FILL THIS IN] wherever the paragraph needs a fact the quotes do not contain. If you are reading on a phone, replace the table with one block per row: a heading line, then one short labelled line per column. Quote 1: [PASTE QUOTE 1] Quote 2: [PASTE QUOTE 2] Quote 3: [PASTE QUOTE 3]

15 minutes · Gives you a table · How much to paste at once: Paste all three quotes together only if each one is short. Otherwise paste one per message and ask for the table last. If a column is missing, or a row stops in the middle of a sentence, the answer was cut off.
Read the answer against the checks below before you use it in anything that leaves your organisation.
What to fill in
- Write the language your procurement file is kept in, for example Arabic or English, into [ANSWER LANGUAGE].
- Paste each offer into [PASTE QUOTE 1], [PASTE QUOTE 2] and [PASTE QUOTE 3], with contact details and individual names removed.
- Fill [WHICH QUOTE] once you have decided. Write "quote 1", "quote 2" or "quote 3".
Before you trust the answer
- Check every figure in the table against the quote it came from. Delete any figure that appears in no quote.
- Treat every "the quote does not say" as a question for that supplier, not as a finding against them.
- Write the decision yourself. Section C is a draft of your reasoning, not a decision, and your own procurement rules still apply.
When it goes wrong
It will silently correct an arithmetic error in one quote, or convert a price into another currency, so your justification cites a figure no supplier ever wrote.
