Prompts
Sort a gazette issue into read, watch and ignore
Turns the contents page of an official gazette issue into a table with one verdict per item, and says plainly where the title alone is not enough to judge.
What may go into it: Public or invented material only
The prompt
Answer in [ANSWER LANGUAGE], even if the material below is in another language. Below is the table of contents of one issue of an official gazette. I have the titles only, not the full texts. Sort them for me. Rules: 1. Work only from the titles I give you. Do not describe content you have not been given, and do not fill it in from what such items usually contain. 2. Where the title alone does not say what an item changes, write "The title alone is not enough" in that cell and stop there. 3. Copy each item's number, date and title exactly as printed, including mixed digits: ١٢٣ alongside 123. 4. Give every item one verdict: "Read in full", "Watch" or "Ignore", with a reason of one line. 5. Add nothing about who published it, why, or what it means politically. Give me, in this order: A. A table with these columns: item as printed, what it appears to change, who it appears to affect, verdict, reason. B. The items where the title alone is not enough, listed again, each with the one question that would settle it. C. If there is time for only three, the order to open them in. If you are reading on a phone, replace the table with one block per row: a heading line, then one short labelled line per column. Table of contents: [PASTE THE LIST OF ITEMS]
Opens a new chat in that tool with this prompt already typed in. Fill in every box first, and read the line at the top about what may go into it.
20 minutes · Gives you a table · How much to paste at once: Paste up to about forty items at a time. If the table stops before the last item you pasted, or an item is missing from it, ask again with the items that were left out.
Read the answer against the checks below before you use it in anything that leaves your organisation.
What to fill in
- [ANSWER LANGUAGE]. Name the language you want the answer in, for example Arabic, Kurdish or English.
- [PASTE THE LIST OF ITEMS]. Copy the contents page of the issue as printed, one item per line. Published gazette material only.
Before you trust the answer
- No verdict here is a finding. It is a reading order built from titles, and section B is where a title was not enough.
- Open every item marked "Read in full" yourself before you report anything from it.
- Compare three item numbers against the printed contents page. A wrong number sends you to the wrong text.
When it goes wrong
It will describe what an item does from its title alone, in wording that reads like a summary of a text nobody gave it.
