Canva
A design tool for flyers, graphics and presentations, with AI features built in. Free for eligible nonprofits.
Careful with sensitive material
Never put this into it
Do not upload a witness's photo, a scanned ID card, or a design containing a survivor's real name or exact address on a Free or Pro account unless you have switched off AI training in your account's content permissions. That setting defaults to allowing your uploads to train Canva's AI models on those two plans. Teams, Business, Enterprise, and Education accounts are excluded from training by default.
Canva makes flyers, social media graphics, presentations and report covers look designed without a designer. You start from a template and replace what is in it.
It is built for short visual material. Its AI writing feature drafts a caption or a headline; it will not write your report, and Canva is not where a long document should live.
Canva for Nonprofits gives eligible organisations the paid features at no cost, subject to review. Apply before anyone in your organisation pays for a subscription.

Trains on what you type?
Depends on the plan or account type.
How long it is kept
Canva's AI Product Terms allow content you upload or generate on Free and Pro accounts to be used to train Canva's AI models by default, with an opt-out available in account content-permission settings. Teams, Business, Enterprise, and Education accounts are excluded from AI training with no opt-in possible.
Account required
- An email address
Getting it, and using it in Iraq
Access in Iraq
- Paid plans typically need a card issued outside Iraq.
Canva does not publish a country allowlist or blocklist; no report of it being blocked in Iraq was found. As with other paid SaaS tools, organisations in the region report that Iraqi-issued cards are often declined; this is a widely reported pattern, not documented Canva policy. The free plan and the nonprofit programme above need no card.
Language quality
No one has published a measurement for this.
Arabic (Modern Standard)
Canva does not publish a per-language accuracy figure for its Magic Write/Translate AI features, and no independent benchmark was run. Untested.
Iraqi Arabic
No dialect-specific benchmark exists or was checked for this entry. Untested.
Kurdish (Sorani)
No benchmark or vendor documentation on Kurdish Sorani support in Canva's AI features was found or checked for this entry. Untested.
